Vedic Maths

Vedic Mathematics is the name given to the ancient system of Indian Mathematics which was rediscovered by Sri Bharti Krisna Tirathji (1884-1960) from the Vedas /Sutras. According to his research all of mathematics is based on SUTRAS or word formulae. These formulae describe the way the mind works naturally and are therefore a great help in directing the student to the appropriate solution.

Instead of unrelated techniques the whole system is beautifully inter related and unified. This unifying quality is very satisfying, it makes mathematics easy and enjoyable and encourage innovation.

The simplicity of Vedic Maths means that calculations can be carried out mentally. There are many advantages in using a flexible, mental system. Children can invent their own methods; they are not limited to the one ‘correct’ method.

Interest in the Vedic Mathematics is growing in education where teachers are looking for better techniques to faster the calculations of the children and finding that the Vedic Maths is the answer.
